IMPORTANT NEWS FROM KILCULLEN BADMINTON CLUB

 

 

Dear KBC Member,

 

Kilcullen Badminton Club has had its best year yet with a large increase in members, three wins in the Dublin and District League and some great social nights! We hope you’ll agree there’s a great atmosphere in the club and some fantastic badminton being played.

 

As the season draws to an end, your 2008/09 Committee would like to let you know about some important information:

 

AGM

 

Kilcullen Badminton Club will hold its AGM Friday (May 22nd) at the Chinese restaurant in Kilcullen (top of town)

 

The meeting will start at 8pm and is expected to last for a maximum half an hour (i.e. with your starters), Most of the current committee is stepping down due to other commitments so please consider putting yourself forward for a position so the club can continue.

 

Positions vacant are: 1.Chairperson 2.Secretary 3.Match Secretary 4.PRO & Web  5.Treasurer

 

If you would like to discuss what each position entails, please contact current chairperson, Dorothy Sheehan 087 9050820.  We are also asking that you put forward names for nomination using the enclosed form (click here), or on the night of the AGM. Please ensure you attend this short AGM as it is vital for the future of the club. Your support is appreciated.

 

SUMMER CLUB

 

The Summer Club starts on Tuesday, May 26th. Play is €5 a session (or €80 for the whole summer) and there are plans to continue both Tuesday and Thursday nights, if there is enough demand. The Summer Club is a great opportunity for new players to try out at the club to see if they'd like to join next September, so spread the word!  New members must pay insurance (€25) to be allowed on court after one initial 'try-before-you-buy' session!  Members of other Badminton Ireland clubs will be exempt from this €25. BI membership number required

 

GOT A COMPETITIVE EDGE?!

 

Following on from this season's successes, KBC is calling on all members and new players to consider now whether they would like to play competitively next season. In order to field the best teams for the Dublin and District League, the Committee is asking people to put their names forward now if they would like to be considered for entry into a team.

 

With team information and gradings having to be submitted to Leinster Badminton by the end of September 2009, there is always a last-minute rush to organise teams and subs after the summer. You can sign up now on the club noticeboard, or email kilcullenbc@hotmail.com.

 

The Committee would like to thank everyone for their contributions to making the club such a success this year. We have really enjoyed it. Here’s to 2009/10! In the meantime, please keep up-to-date with all things KBC at www.kbc.mywebweb.com.
